It is sad what is happening in Uasin Gishu. The County has 4 subcounties. Each one has a rural Zones and a former Eldoret municipality zone. When interviews were conducted the urban zones that enjoy enhanced house allowance were filled up by teachers some of whom came from the rural zones. Afterwards the promotion letters for deputy head teachers were released. At that time the only schools that needed deputies and head teachers were these rural zones of the 4 subcounties. These are school with very low population most of which are below 100 learners in a school and others below 200 learners . The teachers who were in the municipality zones are now being posted to these rural zones . Most are farflung subjecting teachers to very long distances into the villages where they are situated.
